Heart Healthy: Tuna
Tuna is a good source of heart-healthy omega-3s; it generally costs less than salmon. Albacore (white tuna) contains more omega-3s than other tuna varieties.
Tuna is a readily available fish choice. You can get everything from full tuna steaks to handy to-go pouches to carry with you. You can also mix it up as a salad ahead of time and divide into containers to snack on with crackers or raw vegetables.
Because tuna has such a mild flavor, almost everyone likes it (including kids). Try mixing it with mac & cheese for a lunch bag treat they’ll love.
Tip: Grill tuna steak with dill and lemon; for canned varieties choose tuna packed in water, not oil.
