Caesar salad is one of those foods that tries to fool you. You think you’re doing the right thing by ordering a salad instead of that big fat burger, but guess what:
Just a small bowl has 300-400 calories and 30 grams of fat, thanks to loads of dressing. Also, since it is a very simple salad without much on top, it lacks in protein and other nutrients you want out of a meal.
Food Fix: Use only 1 Tbs. dressing and 2 Tbs. tangy, Parmesan cheese. Or skip the caesar and get a big garden salad topped with lean chicken or turkey instead.

Also, ceasar salad’s aren’t that good. I find that often the best part of a salad is what goes on top i.e. croutons, cucumbers, peppers, nuts, etc.
Get that iceberg out of here!

I agree, half the fun of a salad is what you put in it. But it is very common to think that ceasar salads are better because they don’t have much to them.

Hi Arlene! I was at lunch with the sales team the other day and my friend had a big salad before his meal. I swear the chef combined the soup WITH the salad, in the form of about half a cup of dressing. Is it NORMAL to eat salad with a spoon? I mean shouldn’t the dressing just give a hint of flavor to the dish?
